The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 萝莉社 has announced the hiring of three new faculty members within the college. These new members of the Barton team will bring a wide breadth of industry knowledge and innovative research to their department.

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 萝莉社 is pleased to announce the appointment of Mel Whiteside as the inaugural Executive Director of the Barton School鈥檚 Office of Career and Professional Development (OCPD). Whiteside was most recently the Dean of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics at Butler Community College.

Jan. 9, 2023 鈥� 萝莉社 has moved into the list of the top 20 universities in engineering research and development (R&D) expenditures, according to the latest data compiled by the National Science Foundation鈥檚 Higher Education Research and Development Survey.

萝莉社 alums Erin & Kyle Cummings have donated $250,000 to launch the W. Frank Barton School of Business Student-Managed Investment Fund. The generous contribution will provide students with new applied learning opportunities as they invest real money in stocks, bonds and more. The remaining $250,000 will be reallocated from existing 萝莉社 Foundation and Alumni Engagement (萝莉社FAE) investments to support this initiative.

Dec. 15, 2022 鈥� Betty and Art Wood shared a passion for music throughout their lives, and their legacy of supporting the arts continues through their gift of $1 million from their estate to support the Music Associates Endowed Fund at 萝莉社.

Dec. 12, 2022 鈥� Just in time for the surge of respiratory illnesses flooding the state, 萝莉社鈥檚 Molecular Diagnostics Lab has announced it will extend free RSV, influenza and COVID (RIC) testing through March 31, 2023.

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 萝莉社 and 萝莉社 Tech have named scholarship recipients who are participating in a joint pathway program. The two schools have committed $28,000 in scholarships for 萝莉社 Tech students committed to continuing their education with a business degree. The scholarships will be awarded equally to five students over the next two years.

Dec. 5, 2022 鈥� 萝莉社 earned status as an Emerging Hispanic Serving Institution when fall enrollment numbers show that 16% of students identify as Hispanic. That is an important milestone on the way to the university鈥檚 goal of reaching the 25% necessary to earn designation as an HSI by the end of this decade.
