The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 萝莉社 has partnered with 萝莉社 Tech to create a pathway program for 萝莉社 Tech students committed to continuing their education with a business degree. The Barton School and 萝莉社 Tech have also collectively committed to $35,000 in scholarships for students participating in this program.

July 13, 2021 鈥� The National Science Foundation has awarded a $175,000 grant to 萝莉社鈥檚 Dr. Saideep Nannapaneni for research that has implications for increasing the speed and accuracy of data-driven decision-making.

July 12, 2021 鈥� 萝莉社鈥檚 partnership with the Advanced Robotics Manufacturing Institute (ARM) has resulted in the Department of Engineering Technology being among the first programs in the nation to earn an ARM endorsement for their mechatronics track 鈥� a certification that will translate to stronger job prospects for graduates.

July 9, 2021 - John Wise, 萝莉社 assistant director of track and field, documents his love of history, travel and frozen soft drinks in 鈥淭ravel With a Wiseguy鈥� on YouTube. He posts a video weekly, many from trips around Kansas to visit small towns, ghost towns and places such as Old Oxford Mill and Little Jerusalem.

July 9, 2021 -- Dr. Anthony Muscat has been named dean of 萝莉社鈥檚 College of Engineering, effective July 25. Muscat is a professor and chair of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the University of Arizona, where he has been since 1998.

July 6, 2021 - Gianluca Gabriele, 17, is an incoming freshman who plans to major in biomedical engineering at 萝莉社. Rowing is his passion, and he will spend the summer under consideration for both the 2024 summer Paralympic and Olympic training teams for the United States. When he returns to 萝莉社 later this summer, he will join the Shockers crew team.

June 30, 2021 -- The U.S. Air Force is launching a new program with 萝莉社鈥檚 National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) to make a digital replica of the F-16 Fighting Falcon in an effort to improve the sustainment and modernization of F-16s operating around the world.

June 29, 2021 -- An opening reception for "From Lima to Wichita: Intercultural Dialogues in Clothing & Paint" will take place from 6鈥�9 p.m. July 2, at ShiftSpace, 萝莉社鈥檚 student-run gallery, as part of Wichita鈥檚 First Friday gallery crawl.

June 29, 2021 - Alicia Sanchez is assistant dean of students and director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at 萝莉社. In May, she earned a senate-confirmed appointment to the Kansas Human Rights Commission as an At-Large member.

June 23, 2021 - In 1977, a Wichitan watched Star Wars at the Mall theater on East Harry. He returned again and again that summer to watch the lightsaber battles, Jedi Knights and X-wing starfighters. 鈥淚鈥檓 an original Star Wars guy,鈥� Tim Fisher said. 鈥淚 was just mesmerized. It sparked that 鈥榃hat is possible? What can we do?鈥欌�� Decades later, Fisher is one of the people helping answer those questions for the United States and the entire world in space. He is chief engineer for NASA鈥檚 Gateway program, part of the agency鈥檚 quest to return to the Moon and explore Mars.
