April 6, 2022 鈥� 萝莉社 has been designated an Age-Friendly University for its leadership in research, education and care for older adults. 萝莉社 is the first institution of higher learning in Kansas to receive this designation. Being recognized as an AFU demonstrates 萝莉社鈥檚 commitment to promoting healthy and active aging through research, enhanced learning opportunities for people across generations, and innovations that address issues affecting older adults.

April 1, 2022 鈥� What do you picture when you think of lasers? Laser pointers? Perhaps laser eye surgery or barcode scanners? Turns out there鈥檚 more to lasers than most people realize, and a 萝莉社 chemistry team recently discovered a new series of laser material with potential commercial use.

March 30, 2022 - The vision for varsity esports at 萝莉社 encompasses much more than people gaming on Cybertron Computers and wearing a Logitech Headset. While gaming success is important, the program is also seen as way to provide extra-curricular activity and applied learning for students in disciplines across campus. Travis Yang, hired in December as 萝莉社鈥檚 Esports director, wants to build a program that follows that direction.

March 29, 2022 鈥� In the latest U.S. News and World Report rankings of universities offering a Ph.D. in engineering, the College of Engineering at 萝莉社 once again was ranked in the top 100 engineering graduate programs in the country and the only institution in Kansas to make it in the top 100.

March 28, 2022 鈥� The Office of Tech Transfer and Commercialization at 萝莉社 has launched a program designed to connect experienced entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs with cutting-edge technologies and the opportunity to commercialize them.

March 28, 2022 鈥� Grammy-nominated rap star, actor and advocate Wale will perform in concert at 萝莉社 at 8 p.m. Friday, April 15, in Charles Koch Arena.

March 25, 2022 鈥斅犅芾蛏玮�檚 College of Engineering has named the latest group of high school seniors to join the Wallace Scholar program. Ten Wallace Scholarship recipients will receive $28,500 each to attend 萝莉社 for four years. In addition, two students receiving other major university scholarships will be designated as Wallace Scholars.

March 24, 2022 鈥� A new initiative by 萝莉社鈥檚 Public Policy Management Center and Sedgwick County is helping connect community members to resources that could help with economic recovery efforts. Recovery Connect focuses on helping people, small businesses and non-profits find existing resources in the community.

March 24, 2022 鈥� Around 12-15 萝莉社 students are volunteering for the practices and events surrounding the NCAA women's basketball Sweet 16 and Elite Eight games. Their responsibilities range from organizing practice schedules to decorating locker rooms with NCAA and school logos to working with media members on credentialing and seating. Some will run statistics. For those planning on a career in athletics, the applied learning experience adds to their resume and gives them experience working a nationally recognized event with large crowds and a television audience.

March 23, 2022 鈥� Robert M. Gates, U.S. secretary of defense from 2006-2011 and former director of the CIA, will kick off 萝莉社鈥檚 inaugural Craig W. Barton Speaker Series this spring.
