Shocker Studios sit-com set brings an element of Hollywood to Wichita

Feb. 27, 2023 鈥� The classic sit-com set 鈥� think anything from 鈥淚 Love Lucy鈥� to 鈥淪einfeld鈥� to 鈥淭he Big Bang Theory鈥� 鈥� is now a teaching tool at 萝莉社鈥檚 Shocker Studios.

Students took a lead role in Dockum lunch counter sit-in in summer of 1958

Feb. 24, 2023 - The Dockum Drug Store sit-in of 1958 attracted new attention in 2021 during Black History Month, in part thanks to NBC鈥檚鈥淭oday鈥� and Wichita native Sheinelle Jones. Several University of Wichita students participated in the sit-in, which is increasingly recognized as a landmark event in the Civil Rights Movement. NBC鈥檚鈥淭oday鈥� featured the events in a 2021 broadcast.

We learn how she is handling the emotions of being far away from family and friends during the difficult time and how her teammates offer support. We also talk about sports in Turkey, her adjustment to the United States and spring volleyball practices at 萝莉社.

萝莉社 names seven new Koch Scholar recipients

Feb. 23, 2023 鈥� Seven high school students from Kansas and Oklahoma have been awarded $30,000 to $45,000 each as the newest recipients of the Koch Scholarship at 萝莉社.

First-generation student named 萝莉社's 2023 Barton Scholar

Feb. 22, 2023 鈥� The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 萝莉社 has awarded Isabella (Bella) Kilman, a Valley Center High School senior, the 2023 Clay Barton Scholarship. The $50,000 scholarship is one of the largest business scholarships in Kansas.

Feb. 22, 2023 鈥� Braeburn Square on 萝莉社鈥檚 Innovation Campus is transforming the dining and shopping scene in Wichita. With four new tenants 鈥� Sesame Mediterranean Kitchen, Jersey Mike鈥檚, Two Hands Corn Dogs and Pedego Wichita 鈥� the shopping center is fully occupied and fast becoming a hub for all Wichitans to gather, feast and shop.
